LAND APPLICATION
BENEFITS
By treating a biological waste digestion
system with the addition of BIOLOGIC SR2 and maintaining a
dominance of selected biological cultures, prior to land application, tremendous benefits
can be achieved during the land application process.
Typical results which can be expected are as follows:
- An increase in biological activity prior to land application results in more complete
biological degradation of the solids. When land applied, these waste solids impose a lower
organic loading to the soil. This translates into minimum adverse effects to crops and teh
elimination of crop "burning" due to the organic load. Although the organic
material in BIOLOGIC SR2 digested sludge is much lower than that of
conventionally digested sludge, the nutrient level is still maintained and available to
plant life.
- More complete solids digestion resulting in easier to handle material, which is easier
to pump.
- Due to the inherent properties of BIOLOGIC SR2 in eliminating
foul odor discharge by inhibiting the odor producing mechanisms, odor problems during land
application are eliminated.
- The natural tendency of solids to settle when digested in the presence of BIOLOGIC
SR2 results in a significantly reduced sludge volume requiring disposal.
- The lower sludge volume results in lower dewatering and/or disposal costs.
