POULTRY HOUSE GAS GENERATION
Our experience in wastewater and composting applications as well as the testing conducted
by the National Research Council of Canada, has determined that with the addition of BIOLOGIC
SR2, gas emissions such as ammonia and hydrogen sulphide are
reduced.
Ammonia and Hydrogen Sulphide Suppression with BIOLOGIC SR2
The bacteria stimulated by the addition of BIOLOGIC SR2 are facultative anaerobes. Facultative anaerobes are able to grow rapidly in air by oxygen respiration and can also grow without air using fermentation as an energy-yielding mechanism. They have simple nutritional requirements that are capable of using a wide range of organic molecules for growth They do not produce H2S from sulphate or from organic sulphur containlng molecules. In poultry house waste, the suppression of ammonia and hydrogen sulphide with the addition of BIOLOGIC SR2, is due to an interplay of several competition processes between the stimulated facultative anaerobes and the suiphate/nitrate reducing bacteria.
Some of the benefits of BIOLOGIC SR2 for this application
include the following:
- Accelerates the decomposition of the organic matter
- Non-toxic, natural, mlcronutrient, will not contaminate the ground water
- Environmentally safe product made from natural ingredients, no chemicals, dyes or perfumes
- Does not mask the odours but eliminates the source
- Is not a deodorizer
- Easy to use and apply, simply dilute with water and spray
- Provides continuing long lasting benefits
Chicken waste undergoes the decomposition of the organic matter by bacterial methods.
Frequently, due to the lack of oxygen, odour producing, anaerobic bacteria are formed.
This results in offensive odour discharge from the stockpiling of chicken waste.
